CDSL Launches DigiLocker Integration for Demat Account Statements
The Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) has announced a major digital upgrade for investors. Effective April 1, 2025, CDSL demat account holders can now fetch their Consolidated Account Statement (CAS) and Transaction-cum-Holding Statement directly through the DigiLocker platform.
What's New?
- Seamless Access: Registered DigiLocker users can fetch their CDSL CAS and Transaction-cum-Holding Statement by entering their demat account number, PAN, and a date range.
- Flexible Retrieval: Statements are available for up to 30 days prior, or you can fetch the latest CAS from the past 12 months.
- Official Notification: This facility was notified by CDSL on March 28, 2025 (Notification No. CDSL/OPS/DP/SETT/2025/210).
Why Does It Matter?
- Legal Validity: Documents stored in DigiLocker have the same legal standing as physical originals under the Information Technology Act, 2000.
- Investor Convenience: Investors can now access, download, and store their demat and mutual fund holding statements in one secure digital location.
- Nominee Access: SEBI's new rules allow investors to nominate DigiLocker users, making asset transmission and nominee notification easier in the event of the account holder's demise.
- Reduces Unclaimed Assets: By making statements easily accessible, the risk of unclaimed or forgotten investments is reduced.
How to Use the Facility
